This class features our new online learning system.

 

The weekend before class begins you will be sent your system user ID and password to login to our new community support and learning system.

 

On the class portal page you will be able to:

Share on our class message boards and receive step-by-step guidance for any questions during your journey.

Access and print (or save) your lessons.

Network with other class members through the message board or instant messaging system

Access any class links and worksheets.

 

This portal is extremely easy to use, no internet or message board finesse required.

 

How much time does this class require?

There is no mandatory homework or mandatory sharing so you are free to work at your own pace as well. By completing an action plan and downloading the lessons you can continue to work on your new system at any pace comfortable to you.

Pretend you are a life raft that wakes up completely full each morning. Each area where you have an “energy leak” let’s releases air throughout the day. When we have too many of these leaks we find we are depleted before the day is done.

 

Did you know that scientists can predict how much energy you will have in the afternoon based on what you do within the first hour of waking? You'll learn the routine that increases energy and many more tips you can apply immediately in your life. (And no, you don't have to run three miles every morning!) In this class, I will help you ...

  • Understand your personal energy cycle and how to use it to your advantage

  • Identify key energy drainers in your life and devise an action plan to eliminate them

  • Determine how much sleep you actually need

  • See how your food and beverage choices (and when you eat them) impact your metabolism and energy

  • Learn the 5 secrets of high-energy individuals and how to apply them to your life

  • Explore the external factors that effect Energy (from color to sound to temperature)

  • Understand what scientists have learned about how we sleep, our ideal patterns, and maximizing rest to invigorate the body

Often when we think of "improving energy" we look at our eating patterns, sleeping patterns and exercise habits. While these three physical-factors play a key role, they only represent one component of the energy matrix.

 

Week by Week Outline
 

Week One: Understanding Energy and Creating Your Energy Log
During our first few days together, you will learn how energy works and the secrets of high-energy individuals. We will break down energy into understandable components. A quiz will allow you to see where you need a “tune up.”  You will also create your “Energy Journal” that will be used throughout the class to uncover your personal formula for high-energy living. Over our five weeks together we will spend 1-2 days exploring the following components:

 

Week Two: Energy Is An Attitude

Did you know that your thoughts and attitude are one of the key factors of your energy level? Say "I'm tired..." and guess what--you will become more tired. This week we explore how our thoughts influence our energy and take a five-day-energy-building challenge to rejuvenate our minds.

 

Week Three: The Food Factor

Food and water make up an important piece of the energy pie and it isn't just what you eat--but when you eat. This week we explore:

  • How Food Influences Energy

  • When to Eat to Feel Great

  • Water and its Energy Effects

  • Foods that Boost Foods that Drag

  • A Menu of Energy: Example of Food Choices and Timing

Week Four: The Sleep Factor

Think You Are A Morning Person? Or A Night Owl? Think again. New research has revealed that the times we choose to rise and rest have a profound influence on how we feel. This week you will learn about:

  • Sleep Cycles

  • Creating a Sleep Environment

  • Types and Quantity of Sleep

  • Sleep Demons: From Dreams to Insomnia to Night-Shift Workers

 Week Five: Often Overlooked Energy Secrets
Another component of energy is often overlooked--environmental energy. This week we will explore some often overlooked energy factors like sound, scent, people, color, and posture. Finally, we will wrap-up with a plan to eliminate your energy drainers and create your Personal High-Energy Plan checklist.
